neutral  TonyTK: To me it sounds more like: the lessor assigns his rights to the lessee, and the lessee asserts the claim against the supplier with any compensation to be made to the lessor. Not saying it's logical, but that's what the "zur Leistung an" says to me.

  -> I think you're right, Tony, and there must be a more unambiguous way of expressing this in German..
