Bio
I am a freelance translator with experience in translating legal, academic, and religious texts and documents. I own a translation company and collaborate with other freelancers.
I am a Licensed Attorney in Mexican Law, majoring in Corporate Law. I am originally from Tampico, Mexico which is located in the Northeast of Mexico, and being a port city, I was exposed to the international trade and Customs culture. I studied at the University IEST-Anahuac where I graduated with honors. I practiced law in Mexico in the areas of Civil, Commercial, Litigation, Customs, and Tax Law from 1999 to 2003.
Here in the US, I have experience counseling attorneys and clients on the terminology of Mexican Law. I also taught Mexican Law and Legal terminology at the University of Detroit Mercy in 2009 and 2010.
I have over ten years of experience in legal translations and interpretations. I have served as an interpreter at the Immigration Office and for the Immigration Court. I also have experience translating legal documents for attorneys, individual clients, and companies for matters of Immigration, Civil Litigation, Tax, and Real Estate Law.
I have been teaching Spanish at the University of Detroit Mercy since 2014, and I have over a decade of experience teaching, training, and tutoring professionals and college students at all levels of Spanish. I was also a Language and Cultural trainer for Tier 1 Companies in the Automotive industry for five years.
I am fluent in English and Spanish, with complete immersion in both cultures.
Lastly, I currently work with a Catholic organization and have experience translating different religious documents including manuals, letters, articles, prayers, etc.
