French term or phrase: perte du réflexe de relever
This term is used to describe how long it takes a patient to "go under". My text compares the time taken to "perdre le réflexe de relever" after intramuscular (3-6 minutes) and intravenous injection (less than one minute).

loss of the righting reflex
Explanation:
I was initially reluctant to post this as the term as used here seems to be used in reference to animals. In humans the righting reflex is usually "réflex e de redressement". However the text you use is used in connection with the drug Zoletil here in French:

http://www.med-vet.fr/medicament-zoletil-50-p1269
Posologie recommandée selon que le produit est administré par voie intramusculaire (perte du réflexe de relever en 3
à 6 minutes) ou intraveineuse (perte du réflexe de relever en moins d’une minute) :

the information for the same drug is given in English here:. virbac.ph/products/zoletil-50-rx

D: Premedication – Atropine sulfate: Dogs- 0.1 mg/kg by SC, 15 mins before inj of Zoletil. Cats – 0.05 mg/kg by SC, 15 mins before inj of Zoletil. Induction – Mix extemporaneously the contents of the powder vial w/ the solvent. By IM – Loss of righting reflex in 3-6 mins. By IV – Loss of righting reflex on <1 min

If you search for righting reflex and anaesthesia there are many refs indicating that this reflex is used in animals to assess response to anesthesia eg here.https://benthamopen.com/contents/pdf/TOPHARMJ/TOPHARMJ-5-1.p... of Drug-Induced Loss of Righting Reflex Response by Pretreatment with a Nitric Oxide Donor Yuhua (Al) Wang1, Raymond M. Abstract: Background/Aims: The role of nitric oxide (NO) in general anesthetic drug action is controversial. The present study was carried out to determine the role of NO in the loss of righting reflex induced by injectable sedative and anesthetic drugs. Methods: Under isoflurane anesthesia, male NIH Swiss mice received an intracerebroventricular microinjection of the NOdonor 3-morpholinosydnoimine (SIN-1) 30 min prior to an i.p. injection of chloral hydrate, sodium barbital, midazolam or ketamine/xylazine. Mice were monitored for onset and duration of loss of righting reflex (LORR). Results: Pretreatment with SIN-1 reduced the mean duration of LORR induced by chloral hydrate, sodium barbital and midazolam but not ketamine/xylazine. Pretreatment with SIN-1 had no effect on the mean latency to LORR. Conclusion: It is concluded that there may be a differential involvement of NO in the LORR response, depending upon whether the primary drug action is through GABAA or NMDA receptors. Keywords

unable to stand

Explanation:
Official translation of the term as per a SPC document.

Example sentence(s):
  • unable to stand in 3 to 6 minutes

disagree  Drmanu49: Not during anesthesia!!! and that would be "de se relever". Your link points exactly at réflexe de relever NOT SE relever! And it is veterinary medicine not human.
12 mins
  -> The medication on the link is an anesthetic - same as the original question regarding "going under". The full sentence even mentions the administration route... "When the product is administered intramuscularly (unable to stand in 3 to 6 minutes)"
