Периодически он выражал очень «правую точку зрения», это бросалось в глаза.
Пару раз я был вынужден сказать, что не смогу включить в материал его крайне субъективное мнение, и что он должен показывать нам разные места, а не выступать «экспертом по политической ситуации».
Его личная точка зрения как главного героя репортажа была бы приемлемой, но с учетом большого количества домыслов нужно было соблюдать определенные рамки.
Конечно, местные жители были в самом эпицентре кризиса, и их озабоченность не была необоснованной.
Уже много лет молодежь покидает этот регион и уезжает в большие города и за границу.
Translation - German Kosta entpuppte sich als guter Protagonist. Er war ein wortgewandter Gesprächspartner und beantwortete alle Fragen des Interviewers mit Leichtigkeit.
Bisweilen äußerte er einen sehr „rechten Standpunkt”, das war schon auffällig. Ich musste ihn einige Male darauf hinweisen, dass ich seine höchst subjektive Meinung nicht in die Reportage aufnehmen könne und dass es nicht seine Aufgabe sei, als „Experte für die politische Situation in der Region” aufzutreten, sondern uns verschiedene Orte zu zeigen.
Zwar wäre seine persönliche Sichtweise als Protagonist der Reportage durchaus akzeptabel gewesen, aber angesichts der zahlreichen Spekulationen mussten bestimmte Rahmenvorgaben eingehalten werden.
Natürlich steckten die Ortsansässigen mitten in der Krise, und ihre Sorgen waren nicht unbegründet. Schon seit vielen Jahren verlassen junge Menschen die Region und gehen in die großen Städte und ins Ausland.

Source text - English The Secret Life of ‘Um’
How filler words and tiny pauses keep conversations from going off the rails.
This precise clockwork dance that happens when people speak to each other is what N.J. Enfield, a professor of linguistics at the University of Sydney, calls the “conversation machine.” In his book How We Talk, he examines how conversational minutiae—filler words like “um” and “mm-hmm,” and pauses that are longer than 200 milliseconds—grease the wheels of this machine. In fact, he argues, these little “traffic signals” to some degree define human communication.
I hopped into the conversation machine with Enfield for a very meta chat about the big impacts of tiny words and pauses on human interaction.
Julie Beck: Can you explain what the “conversation machine” is and why it’s unique among animals?
N.J. Enfield: When we’re having a conversation, because of the entirely cooperative nature of language, we form a single unit. Certain social cognitions that humans have—the capacity to read other people’s intentions and the capacity to enter into true joint action—allow us to connect up to each other in interaction and ride along in this machine.
