Italian term
quota di caduta
Italian to English
Science
Mechanics / Mech Engineering
Hydraulics
Referring to a study of Leonardo's (visible on http://brunelleschi.imss.fi.it/itineraries/image/img34748.ht... the caption is
Congegno meccanico e studi delle quote di caduta dell’acqua sulla pala
I see that 'quota' in hydraulics is 'head', but do not understand whether the 'quota di caduta' refers to a specific amount of energy, an amount of water, the height from which the water falls or other (excuse my non-specialist language!). Thanks

height of water falling on paddle
just a guess really but there is very little context. It appears to be about a water/hydro power plant
