tavolati in mattoni

CAD
It is a book about CAD and this part gives the history. "tavolati" are usually boards or flooring made of wood not brick. To give a "brick floor" as an example of a typical building element would be a bit strange. Floors are usually wooden or concrete. Any ideas?
Il disegno di un muro non è una convenzione grafica costituita da linee parallele, bensì è un "elemento muro", riconosciuto dal software come tale, personalizzabile dall'utente secondo le esigenze. E’ pertanto possibile spostare o modificare **tavolati in mattoni** o altre componenti edilizie, preservando in ogni caso l'intento progettuale.

"tavolati" do not exist in English. I have never seen them used in construction, at least not in the UK. The only meaningful English name for them is what I suggested: hollow clay slabs.

Note from asker:
Tom, the text is about CAD rather than types of slabs. He is using these "tavolati in mattoni" as a typical example of a building element like a window or a door. I need something ordinary and simple rather than something highly specific. I think he just means brick walls, whether vertical or horizontal if you see what I mean. I believe he is just trying to avoid repetition. |
What are they called in English language CAD software applications? |
Thanks anyway |
NOte speaking with the author I used masonry components. |
