French term

dér. rhythme

French to English Medical Medical: Cardiology patient report
Hi everyone,
I've got an ECG graph with th following information underneath:
150Hz - 25.0mm/s - 10.0mm/mV - 4x2,5s + dér. rhythme - MAC55 009B - 12SL™ v239

I can't work out what "dér." means. Can anybody tell me?
Thanks.

Discussion

SJLD Jan 5, 2012:
Note that the rhythm lead generates what is called a rhythm strip, and some manufacturers refer to this:

DICOMUX the free DICOM viewer - Features
dicomux.org/Features.html
DICOMUX is able to present the ECG waveform data of a DICOM ... 1x10 Seconds; 4x2.5 Seconds; 4x2.5 Seconds with additional rhythm strip; 5x2.0 Seconds
liz askew Jan 5, 2012:
@transcimed, the thing is then "dér" would come after "rhythme" as an adjective.
transcimed Jan 5, 2012:
derived rhythme to me dér. rhythme (rythme in french) = derived rhythme, meaning that rhythme data are mathematically derived
Suzanne Smart (X) (asker) Jan 5, 2012:
Thank you! Fantastic! Thank you so much. And great references that I can use in the future as well.

derived rhythme lead

Please look twice. In this case, lead means the data output and "dér." would mean that rhythme data (= output) are mathematically derived.
Besides, the google document mentions under "Heart rate indication": derivation of the heart rate from all ECG signals.
