Es un cilindro grande horizontal que gira lentamente. Al tener un pequeño ángulo, al ingresar los componentes lo hace por un extremo y lentamente recorren el cilindro hasta egresar.
Se caracteriza por ser de producción contínua, no batch.
Frecuentemente se incorporan esferas de cuarzo o acero inoxidable si se desea una mezcla/nolienda más fina.
Se llama "tumbler" puesto que al girar el cilindro la sustancia trepa por la pared hasta que cae por su peso (tumbles down).
