Socket targeting construct. Socket/F9 (Fig 1) was constructed in the pPNT vector (a kind gift from Dr R.C. The neoΔHPRT genes are followed by the 5.5-kb 3′ homology region, which contains part of intron 3, exon 4, and part of intron 4. The negative selection marker, HSV-tk gene,16 is joined to the 3′ end.
