Arabic term

ﻤﻦ ﻋﺪﻤﻪ

Arabic to English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters Egyptian usage
Min (man?) 'adamihi.

This little phrase comes up a lot in the text I am working on, e.g. "is the situation xyz, ﻤﻦ ﻋﺪﻤﻪ"

From the context and a little research I suspect it means "or otherwise", but I would prefer to have this confirmed as it is not in my dictionaries.

Many thanks to all.

Discussion

Nesrin Jun 3, 2008:
Yes, it's really hard to suggest a proper translation without seeing the sentence.
Ghada Samir Jun 3, 2008:
Yes,"من عدمة" it means what is suggested by our colleagues, but it's better to give a complete sentence as to be able to choose what fits better.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "First, my apologies for the lack of full context - I was in a real hurry. Nadia's answer is clearly correct, but in the context of the English translation, this is the one that I have used. Many thanks to all."

or not

for example: إذا كان فلان ذهب إلى فلان و فعل هذا و ذاك ، من عدمه
we do use this expression. However more context with real Arabic sentences is needed to be 100% certain.

agree Maureen Millington-Brodie : my first thought too, but difficult to be sure without context

Many thanks Mahy :)
agree Mona Helal : fully: "whether it is there (it exists) or not" - depends on the full sentence
