البيادر means the plants grown in a field especially cereals like wheat and barley. This is the meaning used at least in Iraq. It also means the forefront of something. It derives it meaning from بادر - to initiate- or take the initiative. The root of the word in Arabic is بدر and here we have many examples as in ويش البدر مني in Kuwaiti dialect.
