she didn't say أغطي or غطي she said afal قفل - I think she wants to have two parts of the dress come together - whether she wants to cover herself or not; that is another question! :)

What I was trying to clarify in "your" link that close-up in that context means what I suggested before (in the adjective sense).
No disagreement I hope :)
The link provided by you strongly support my second suggestion. Kindly have a look on sense no. 3
3. close up - unite or bring into contact or bring together the edges of; "close the circuit"; "close a wound"; "close a book"; "close up an umbrella".
"afal" here is a "verb" [قفّل] not an "adverb!
