The platform shall be based on Web Services, that are software systems identified by a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI), whose interfaces and bindings are defined and described using the eXtensible Markup Language (XML). Web Services expose their functionality to End-Users through a standard Web protocol, the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), and provide a description of their interface, expressed in the Web Services Description Language (WSDL).
