Kumud means water-lily, it could be a white lotus or red lotus. And Bhakti also means to worship, So Bhakti Kumud could mean a white/red lotus used in worshiping.
Non-ProZ.com Jun 28, 2005:
Red lotus Thank you very much for giving the translation of kumud i think Devotional Lily might not be the correct translation for the given context. but Red Lotus might be i wanted to know where this comes from, bhakti kumud as the red lotus

Kumud is generally a feminine name in Indian languages.

Bhakti is not such a common name. It is also a feminine name. The masculine form in bhakt meaning devotee.

Thanks.
agree Shruti Nagar : but Bhakt is NOT the masciline form of Bhakti. Bhakti is the quality (devotion) which every bhakt (devotee) has whether male or female.

I was having the context of names in mind. Bhakt as in Sikandar Bhakt, for example.
