Discussion

Non-ProZ.com Mar 8, 2004:
some clarification The sentence reads as follows:

If you are a parent or guardian of a student planning to go on to higher education.

What in your opinion fits best here: Abhibhaavak or Sanrakshak (I am finding it hard to decide!)

victor versus protector

abhibhavak means the one who defeats,
a defeater,
a victor,
a winner,
a conqueror or
where as sanrakshak is a protector,
a defender,
a guardian,
an upholder etc.

But I do not think it is abhibhaavak it is abhibhavak.

Hope that helps.

What are you translating? Sounds interesting!

Refering to your suggestion : check this site it is clearly abhibhavak.
