Andrés Martínez Dec 18, 2009:
Answer to Yasutomo´s question. If the scientific name is the same, undoubtedly they are two common names for the same plant. This species seems to be rare (I haven´t found a common name in a dictionary of weeds, so I assume that it is a rare one), and sometimes specialists use a common name selected according different criteria. So, it is not strange to find two or more names for same plant. This is asides some very common plants which can have tens of different names in a language. This is my opinion.

The plants of genus Orobanche are called "broomrapes" in english.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broomrape
Broomrape or Broom-rape (Orobanche) is a genus of over 200 species of parasitic herbaceous plants in the family Orobanchaceae, mostly native to the temperate Northern Hemisphere[1].
Orobanche arenaria Sand Broomrape
Orobanche hederea Ivy Broomrape
etc.

The scientific name reveals that "pale" is appropriate:
"Pallidiflora" (latin) = "pallidus" (pale) "flora" (flower) "pale flower".

University of Hamburg:
Garden Gate: Roots of Botanical Names
(...)
palle- / palli- pale
(pallidus / pallidiflora = pale flower) (pallescens)

In my opinion, an specialised book about the genus Orobanche is a reliable source.
Maybe, "Pale" differentiate it from another species which have a similar name. Sometimes botanists add adjectives for disambiguation purposes.

disagree Yasutomo Kanazawa : Broomrapes is correct all right, but the correct name is Thistle Broomrape without Pale.//I see, so if what you say is correct, is Pale Thistle Broomrape and Thistle Broomrape the same?

Yasutomo, a plant can have different common names. I know plants with five, six or more names. Please, read the discussion entry. My answer is too long.

disagree Andrés Martínez : Please, look my reference. Whats the reference of nomen.at (Handbook of Botany, Botanic Garden)? . I give a reference from a trustworthy source. The pictures of Google don´t seem to clarify the question. I studied Botany at the University, too.

Reference of nomen.at is a trustworthy source. Pictures of Google were added for reference to the asker so that he could confirm the verity of my answer. I've also looked up Wiki which you pasted, but not reliable, so I decided not to include in my refs.
