dipune Cred ca la mine in context se potriveste will have control of/have the use of. Daca as spune dipose of - inseamna instrainare.
Multumesc pentru explicatii!

La fel de in ceata ca si tiza mea si Stefangelo; ma tot uit de doua zile dar n-am intervenit pentru ca tot am crezut ca imi scapa ceva; de acord si cu colegii lui Mihaela ....just give it away.
mihaela. Sep 11, 2009:
"the car is at your disposal" Daca traducerea ar fi fost "the building is at your diposal" sensul din limba romana s-ar fi pastrat; o exprimare mai ciudata, dar macar in ideea textului original. Din pacate, discutia este cumva de prisos atat timp cat traducerea este "to dispose of".
In aceasi idee, "to dipose of a car" inseamna sa scapi de ea.

Fun fact: i-am intrebat pe colegii mei (native speakers of English) cum ar face ei sa "dispose of a building" si raspunsurile au fost: "give it away for free" / "implosion" - this guy might have issues I wasn't aware of :-) / demolish, etc.
Stefangelo DPSI Sep 11, 2009:
Pe de alta parte "the car is at your disposal" inseamna "masina este la dispozitia ta/dvs." => va puteti folosi de ea cum doriti => will have control of/have the use of
to dispose of => a scapa de / a renunta la...

MMUK (X) Sep 11, 2009:
Pe de-o parte Dar mai avem si "the car is at your disposal".
to dipose of = a scapa de, a renunta la ...
Unde e greseala?!?

disagree mihaela. : to dispose of = to deal with conclusively, to settle, to DISCARD, to get rid of, to transfer or give away (as by gift or sale), to destroy .
