Russian term

“перегружать” эфир

Russian to English Bus/Financial Advertising / Public Relations
Большинство слушателей не видят различий между промоушном станции и обычными коммерческими объявлениями, поэтому эффективнее использовать непроданное рекламное время, а не “перегружать” эфир.

overload the airing time

Today, because of too much overloading of commercials, program plugs have been changed to: “Watch X program pagkatapos ng Y program.” If one will closely monitor, he or she will find out that the number of commercials being aired per commercial gap (there are 6 gaps per one-hour program) ranges from 12 to 14 30-sec. Spots, or a total of 78 to 84 30-sec. spots per one-hour program. This number of commercials does not include yet program plugs that surely add to the clutter. About two years ago, a TV special, The Andrea Bocelli Concert, was heavily plugged for airing at 9:30 p.m. You know what? That TV special was telecasted at 10:25 p.m., a delay pf 55 minutes (equivalent to 110 30-sec. spots). Of course, we all know the reason for the delay—too much overloading of commercials in the preceding programs. No wonder, these TV stations sign off at close to 2 a.m. of the following day.
