Уретральные нити встречаются в моче при хроническом уретрите, чаще всего гонорейной природы. Длина нитей может колебаться от нескольких миллиметров до сантиметра. Уретральные нити состоят из слизи включенных в нее клеток, чаще плоского эпителия уретры, и лейкоцитов. Соотношение лейкоцитов и клеток эпителия бывает разным, что обусловливает наличие **слизистых или слизисто-гнойных нитей**.
