Russian term
Компьютерная верстка
Russian to English
Art/Literary
Printing & Publishing
This term is used in the front matter of a book to designate the person who prepared the galley proofs on the computer. I have come up with "computer proofing," "digital galley proofs," and related terms. I need the actual professiona term for this job.

Desktop publishing (DTP)
If this person works in some page layout software to create publication documents on a computer - so it is. DTP is the closest variant to the Russian "Компьютерная верстка".
If the book was typeset by someone else and this person just controls the output of galley proofs, then this person is "оператор фотовывода" - "imagesetter operator".

page make-up also stands for the Russian term. but IMO that´s not what you are looking for.

Computer layout
It is simply that nowadays the layout of all books in the western world is made on Mac computers using Quark X-Press programme.
The layout consists of:
- Format/margins setting
- "Impagination"
- Type/pitch setting (simply choosing a font and a pitch with a click, so "Typesetting" for the whole thing is a wrong answer: too restrictive)
- Insertion of images and graphs, if any
- Colour verification (not division – it's a different process)
"Desktop publishing" non ha nada de relevante: it's not publishing we're talking about here but preparing the book for printing – presumably in a typography – on printers (roto or flat), or in a photolitho lab – digitally. Certainly not on home printer as "DTP" implies.
That's it, Mr. Asado! :)

: Верстка - layout/make-up/composition. As Michael says, "computer" is nearly superfluous, but not long ago layout was done w knife & ruler, so including it is legit. "Publishing" is broader or different. Typesetting, proofing, design are different.
