Dipsey
A Dipsey is used in rod fishing to take the lure away from the boat, sideways into one or the other direction. It is a disk (small-3", large -5" in diameter) with a vertical wing and is included in the line about 5 feet from the lure. This is used in trolling (rods attached to the boat and the boat moving continuously) for walleye or steelhead trout in Lake Erie. (That's what we do i the summer, between translation projects)
