I would drop "переход " completely in this particular sentence. When you are talking about summer time as a cause you don't have to specify in English language that we switched over to it, it is assumed, you are just simply siting DST as a reason for.....
Remember, English is more concise than Russian and a lot of times Russian words can be omitted in translation.
