statutory oath

It's like the idea of swearing in or taking an oath of office. Mexican graduands swear an oath to uphold the values and standards of the university and of their chosen professions. "Protesta" means "juramento". "Statutory" is the right word for "reglamentatia"; it means required by regulations.

"protesta
2. f. Promesa con aseveración o atestación de ejecutar algo.
3. f. Promesa solemne de un alto dignatario al tomar posesión de su cargo."

"Last night, I was finally able to attend the ceremony for my “Toma de Protesta”, which is when university graduates take an oath promising to uphold the university’s values and ethics when working in their chosen profession."
