Spanish term or phrase: Se busca que pueda acompañar.
Estoy traduciendo un artículo de Página 12 (https://www.pagina12.com.ar/46429-las-elecciones-en-cinco-cl... acerca de la opinión de varios consultores sobre las próximas elecciones en Argentina.

Pero hay una frase que no me cuadra y no logro entender a qué se refiere. Es la que está entre asteriscos más abajo. He pegado una gran parte del artículo para dar contexto:

¿Quién se busca que pueda acompañar a quién? ¿Se refieren a que la campaña de Cristina ("having Cristina at the top of the ticket") está buscando que otra mujer sea su compañera de "ticket" o su "running mate"? No comprendo bien.

I really like Robert's "the hunt is on" or the search is on, but didn't want to repeat that here. In any case, for "acompañar" I'm understanding it as they just need a name. It's almost like there's Cristina and the rest might as well be small print, for all voters care or notice.

*"Fill out a ticket" here is different from "round out a ticket." To round out a ticket is to have a running mate who compensates for the candidate's electoral shortcomings (personality, experience, etc.) Just wanted to be clear that my suggestion is to fill out and not to round out and that the phrases are not interchangeable.

Explanation:
As far as I can tell, the phrase refers to those who might figure on Cristina's list in the upcoming "PASO" and "general" elections. A lot of time remains between now and these two rounds of elections and, during that time, decisions will be made regarding those who will form part of the list.

Of course, the phrase could refer to only women, cabinet members, or some other category of associates/fellow travellers. It does seem unclear. Hence the general designation of "potential associates" (and the low confidence level).
