Packed up my office (computer) and went to Thailand where I took a month off, after which I went back to business working from there. The low cost of living and the natural beauty of the place automatically put me in a more relaxed mode and opened my eyes to the freedom and possibilities of my freelance career.

I worked very hard as a student, but fortunately never suffered from burnout.
Now, in semi-retirement I am fortunate to set the pace against which I work. I don't mind working through the night occasionally, but then I make sure that I take it calmly for the next day or two.
I believe in the words of Max Ehrmann (1872) :
" Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe

Never a big one, enough to take a break in my career, but have sometimes crashed especially after conferences. Once I slept 36 hours straight.

Small ones, where I take a break during the "working week".
Also usually in response to a monthly project I get, in which a number of similar files have to be translated to agonizingly exacting standards.
