Source text - English After the defeat of the genocidal interim government that succeeded former President Habyarimana in 1994, government officials, soldiers, and Interahamwe militia fled to the DRC, where they set up a parallel government to the Government of National Unity established in Rwanda right after the halt of genocide by the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF). This genocidal government led around three million Rwandans into exile in the DRC. They carried with them their genocidal ideology and all their military hardware.
They sought the support of local Congolese people as well as the DRC government (then Zaire) hoping to broaden their base for an eventual take over of the newly established post-genocide Rwandan government.
The continued presence of the Ex-FAR/Interahamwe linked with the 1994 Rwandan genocide, now regrouped under the FDLR in the eastern DRC undermines stability in the region and strains relations between DRC and Rwanda. This group received military training and was armed by the former Rwandan government in preparation for the genocide in which over one million Tutsis were killed. It was the central cause of the Congo I and II wars and gave rise to the formation of various rebel movements in eastern DRC. The current escalation of conflict in North Kivu is a continuation of the 14-year-old conflict with the FDLR at its helm. This on-going conflict has left hundreds of thousands of people displaced and a large number dead.

Après la défaite du gouvernement intérim et génocidaire qui succéda feu Président Habyarimana en 1994, les représentants du gouvernement, les soldats et les milices Interahamwe s’enfuirent en RDC où ils établirent un gouvernement parallèle au Gouvernement d’Unité Nationale établit au Rwanda juste à la fin du génocide stoppé par le Front Patriotique Rwandais (FPR). Le gouvernement génocidaire mena environ trois millions de Rwandais en exile en RDC. Ils emmenèrent avec eux leur idéologie génocidaire et tout leur armement.
Ils demandèrent le soutien des populations congolaises locales aussi bien que celui du gouvernement de la RDC (connu alors sous le nom de Zaïre) espérant élargir leur base pour une éventuelle reprise de pouvoir du gouvernement post-génocidaire rwandais qui était nouvellement établi.
La présence continue des ex-FAR/Interahamwe, responsables du génocide rwandais de 1994, qui sont regroupés maintenant sous le nom de FDLR dans l’Est du Congo menacent la stabilité de la région et compromet les relations entre la RDC et le Rwanda. Ce groupe a reçu un entrainement militaire et a été armé par l’ancien gouvernement rwandais en préparation du génocide au cours duquel plus d’un million de Tutsis ont été tués. Cela était la cause principale de la première et deuxième guerre au Congo et donna lieu à la formation de différents mouvements rebelles dans l’Est du Congo. Source text - English The Institute of Human Paleontology was founded by Prince Albert Ier of Monaco (1848–1922) in 1910. The prince, who recognized that research concerning human origins was not being sufficiently supported, had asked Marcellin Boule (1861-1942), the most prominent French paleontologist of the time, “de lui préparer un plan d’organisation d’un Institut de Paléontologie humaine.” Boule drew up a proposal for the new institution, whose goal was “le progrès de la science sur toutes les questions relatives à l’origine et à l’histoire de l’Homme fossile,” with attention given to the role that ethnography, geology, and other disciplines could play in elucidating the distant human past. Emmanuel-Élisée Pontremoli (1865-1956) was chosen as the architect of the building, which was donated by Albert I along with an endowment of 1,600,000 francs. On schedule to open in late 1914 but delayed due to World War I, the Institute was not officially inaugurated until 23 December 1920.

Le prince ayant reconnu que la recherche sur les origines humaines ne bénéficiait pas de fonds suffisants, il demanda à Marcellin Boule (1861-1942), paléontologue le plus important de cette période, « de lui préparer un plan d’organisation d’un Institut de Paléontologie Humaine » . Boule rédigea une proposition pour cette nouvelle institution dont l’objectif était « le progrès de la science sur toutes les questions relatives à l’origine et à l’histoire de l’Homme fossile», avec une attention particulièrement donnée au rôle que l’ethnographie, la géologie et autres disciplines pourraient jouer dans l’élucidation du passé lointain des êtres humains .
