Condition

Some customers may comment that the MIL is illuminated.
***************************
Some customers may comment that during an extended drive (approximately 240 km (150 mi), the fuel gauge will indicate empty.
***************************
Technicians may find XXX set.
***************************
Cause
***************************
This condition may be caused by a calibration within the ECM that is too sensitive, when it compares the vehicle speed and mileage driven to the expected fuel consumption, and then processes that information into the expected fuel level changes.

Correction

Important

DO NOT drain and refill the fuel tank, replace the ECM, fuel
level sensor, or the fuel pump module for this condition.
***************************
A revised calibration has been released to address this condition.
***************************
Technicians are to reprogram the ECM using the Service Programming System (SPS) with the latest calibration available on XXX. Refer to the SPS procedures in XXX.

When using a multiple diagnostic interface (MDI) for reprogramming, ensure that it is updated with the latest software version.
