I see TEAMS on profile pages, but when i go there, e.g. Literary, I see a list but don\'t know what it is, what it means, how to join if I want to....
I would like to join a \'literary\' team, for example.

I don\'t know quite how they work as I\'m not involved in any, but I remember seeing one of the advantages of platinum membership being the ability to form teams to bid on large projects.
Hope that sheds some light on the matter for you.

Platinum members have the ability to form a team and invite other ProZ members to join. The team has its own name, leader, URL (e.g. http://www.proz.com/team/xx), description, rates, etc.
One or more members of the team can bid for jobs on behalf of the whole team. This àbility can be given to the team member by its leader.

you could write to the team leader and ask to be part of the team. I am a member of a few teams (by language pairs and field of expertise) and I must tell you that it works very well; we bid on jobs together and we take up assignments together and revise each other work, to the benefit of all members. Hope this is helpful.

Hi Paola and others,
Thank you for your message. I have also created a team, but I am not sure how this works. Do all the team members have to work on a certain project, or only some of them who are called? Or, let say that a particular member cannot work on a particular project, does he still get paid for that project as a team member, even if he is not able to work? Does ProZ have written rules related to the teams or/and if not, who makes the rules for a team? Thank you for your tim... See more Hi Paola and others,

we divide the \"spoils\" of our work according to the number of words done by each member; sometimes one translates and the other revises, or both translate and revise each other. I think it is entirely up to each team and the agreements the members make with each other.
I am extremely happy with this function (you can bid on jobs as a team) and have started fruitful and successful collaboration with other Proz.com members.
ciao Monika
