Hay algún colega que traduzca quechua? | | | Quechua hard to find | Jul 22, 2006 |
Hello Monica,
I guess you (as an active member here) have already used the directory search. With Spanish -> Quechua and viceversa I have found only one translator in Peru!
What a pity that there are no more translators in the directory. I hope that you will get some hints here.
Good luck!
Regards Steffi
P.S.: I know only a few words (the song Senora Chichera) and I really love the soft sound of the pronunciation. | | | mónica alfonso Local time: 19:04 English to Spanish + ... TOPIC STARTER Great, Steffi | Jul 22, 2006 |

maybe I could help you | Jul 23, 2006 |
Monica,
I could possibly help you out. I have worked on a Quechua translation with a friend. She is not a translator but rather a Quechua teacher (native speaker of Quechua and Spanish). Feel free to contact me via my profile.

I am Peruvian and work closely with a translator of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru. He can translate English, Spanish, Quechua (from Cuzco) and Aymara. Please send me the information about the text: source/target language, topic, deadline, etc. He normally charges US$ 0.05 per source word. | | | Stephen Franke United States Local time: 14:04 English to Arabic + ... Quechua Translators - details, please? | Jul 28, 2006 |
Greetings.
I refer to your query on < proz.com > for Quechuca to / from English (?) nor Spanish (?) translators.
There are several such bilinguals in the ethnic communities around Los Angeles and in Orange County.
I understand that their language skills tend to be stronger in Quechua Spanish, than into English.

Please post here - or e-mail to me [ [email protected] ] - details of your requirements, and I can pass that to some of them, along with suggestions that they contact you directly.
IIRC, membership directory of the Southern California Translators and Interpreters Association (SCATIA) includes one, or perhaps two, members who list Quechua in addition to Spanish as among their working languages.
HTH.

Dear fellows,
Excuse me if I make a somehow off-topic and very late contribution, but... as this thread is devoted to the Quechuan language, may I point to an interesting event on this language?
