Italian term

forfettizzando

Italian to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) AMFs
il Comitato Consultivo ha deliberato positivamente in merito alla proposta di modifica del calcolo dell’ammontare della performance fee dovuta rispetto a quanto previsto nel Regolamento, forfettizzando - a fronte dell’attività già svolta - le commissioni variabili totali in un importo una tantum pari ad Euro XXX, che sarà pagato in più tranche entro la data di liquidazione del Fondo.

I know what they mean, because then even say it on the next line, but can't find a suitable verb. TIA

Discussion

forgetting, foregoing, leaving aside, waiving the total variable commissions for the work already done in exchange for a one-off lump sum payment of €x
Paul O'Brien (asker) Apr 19:
Yeah, mate, forfettizzando ... in un importo una tantum, seems to me like something of a repetition.
You "know what they mean" Then just write what they mean, and the result will probably be a good translation of the meaning. If you translate the words, you might fail to translate the meaning.

agree philgoddard : I agree with incorporating or combining, but not reducing. And I think you should include references and a full explanation.

Forfeiting

Not sure and you probably have thought about it already.

forfaiting -> selling at a discount

forf*a*iting rather than forfeiting or NB factoring-> 'Factoring involves the sale of trade receivables to a factor, typically a bank, in exchange for immediate cash payment. On the other hand, forfaiting is a form of export financing where the exporter sells the rights to trade receivables to a forfaiter and receives instant cash.'

Don't worry if you don't understand this form of finance. My inhouse City of London notarial boss dual-qualified as a Solicitor never did, either.

forfettizzando - a fronte dell’attività già svolta - le commissioni variabili : forfaiting ... variable commissions -> as amounts recevable -> by selling them at a discount
Example sentence:

IATE: accounting [BUSINESS AND COMPETITION] COM en forfaiting PREFERRED COM forfeiting COM it * forfaiting* COM forfetizzazione

Forfaiting is a means of financing that enables exporters to receive immediate cash by selling their medium and long-term receivables—the amount an importer owes the exporter—at a discount through an intermediary.

Italian term (edited): forfettizzando

agreeing on a lump-sum price/one-off amount

Peer comment(s):

agree philgoddard : I'm not sure this is the best translation for the context, but kudos for looking it up in a dictionary! It doesn't mean forfeit/waive, though Paul is right that 'forfettizzando in un importo una tantum' is saying the same thing twice.

agree James (Jim) Davis : Forfettizzare explicitly implies the choice of a lumpsum payment over an alternative usually pro rata payment, which is given in the text here.

In the discussion, this is "waiving .... in exchange for". "waiving" by itself does not translate forfettizzando.
