Hello,

My name is Helga. I was born and raised in Barcelona, and studied in a French international school until I was 18. Spanish and Catalan are both my mother tongues. French is my adoptive mother tongue since I was a child.

I studied a Bachelor's degree in Translation and Interpreting at University of Barcelona in Spain and I completed my translation studies with a Master's degree in Film translation. I work as a professional translator since 2002 and have combined my linguist carreer with journalism, social and teaching over the past 10 years.

My clients are from the marketing, NGO, technical, cultural, education and social industries. I have also worked for some editorial houses, in the field of pharma.

My main working languages are English, French, Spanish and Catalan.

I have lived in Brussels, France, Reunion Island, Denmark, the UK and Ireland. All this life experiences have helped me to understand languages from their cultural insight.

My daily word output is around 1200 words. I work with computer assisted translation tools like SDL Trados as well as with subtitling software.
