André Pellet Joins ProZ.com as Chief Operating Officer
Technical background and rich industry experience will serve ProZ.com corporate and individual members well
SYRACUSE, NY, February 25th, 2008 — ProZ.com, the world’s leading source for language professionals, today announced the appointment of André Pellet to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this role, André will focus on expanding and enhancing the “tools and opportunities” that ProZ.com delivers to its members for use in improving their businesses.
André Pellet has been in the translation and localization industry for over 20 years, having served as President of a mid-sized translation company - M2 Enterprises/M2 Limited, and then as Vice President at Welocalize - a leading mid-sized LSP. He has an engineering degree with a specialization in computer science, and has been active with the American Translators Association and its Washington chapter, NCATA, GALA, Localization World, and Multilingual Computing. He was also a charter member of the Association of Language Companies (ALC). His technical background, and broad industry experience, make André uniquely qualified to bring ProZ.com’s platform, known as Connect, through its next stage of development.
On why he decided to join ProZ.com, Pellet said, “In ProZ.com, I see the industry's largest professional community being served by a passionate team that is delivering modern web-based services. The site is well-positioned to support its individual and corporate members beyond the meeting stage to include the entire production process, from project specification to delivery.”
“I am proud to welcome André to the ProZ.com team,” said Henry Dotterer, founder and President of ProZ.com. “He knows the issues that our members face, and has the technical understanding to help them advance their businesses to the next level, whether that be by helping a freelancer to start her own agency, assisting a small agency in becoming a larger entity, or helping an established agency become an international organization."
