Spanish term

entendiéndose por tal

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Insurance
this is an insurance policy for a Wind Farm and this term comes up frequently.

I understand what it means but want to know if there is a set phrase that should be used for insurance policies....?

"Derrame del contenido de depósitos, entendiéndose por tal la pérdida, por salida incontrolada al exterior, del producto contenido en depósitos, como consecuencia de un daño sufrido por éstos y cubierto por la póliza".

Many thanks

, that is... , / , i.e. ..., / , in other words... ,

Creo que este es el sentido expresado apropiadamente en inglés. De todas maneras te pido que te fijes si todas las demás veces que aparece esta expresión, lo hace sosteniento la misma relación semántica con el resto de la oración.

(thereby) resulting in loss,

Is this the kind of thing you mean? Used in a lot of insurance policies if you do a google search.
