Spanish term

efecto mesa

This is referring to the section of a growth curve that 'plateaus' or levels off. Is this the 'table effect' in English, too?

plateau effect

"Plateau effect" is a term used when describing curves on a graph, for example, that begin by rising sharply and then gradually flatten off to a horizontal line (like bacterial growth curves in the log and stationary phases).
