This is from basic conditions for service contracts under the section "insurance" A literal translation "other subscriptions" doesn't seem to mean anything in English to me. Is it referring to anything in particular?

compulsory / mandatory Richard Boulter's note made me thing about this, I really think "compulsory" is used much less than "mandatory" in the context of insurance in the USA. Just search for "compulsory insurance coverage" and "mandatory insurance coverage", and the results will quickly show that "compulsory" is used in pages that are not from the US. restrict the search to .gov sites, and here is what you get:

- "En este módulo explicaremos las garantías que configuran el producto XXX Motor": there are several references to "garantías" but I'm not sure if this should be translated as "coverage"/"insurance policy" or if there is a specific equivalent term, and also:

- "Objeto de la garantía": I understand that this refers to the thing being insured but, again, am unsure of the correct term used in English.

agree jack_speak : Mandatory enrollment seems to make the most sense b/c to me it refers to mandatory insurance coverage v. mandatory enrollment (in other words, in the first instance someone is required to provide coverage, and in the second, someone is provided to enroll.
