: I think you have to say "temporary" - it can also be permanent. //"Layoff is the temporary suspension or permanent termination of employment of an employee or (more commonly) a group of employees for business reasons" (Wikipedia)

: "Seasonal layoff" is the best translation of the phrase in context. "Temporal" (Sp.) and "temporary" (Eng.) are fickle linguistic friends. The summer workers will be put on a seasonal layoff -- temporary, yes, but seasonal is more precise.
