Spanish term

dictamen de acusación

Spanish to English Law/Patents Law (general) accusation brought before judge
"Formulo el presente DICTAMEN DE ACUSACION en contra de los imputados..."

Is it "Formal Complaint" or "Criminal Complaint" or "Criminal Charge" or "Formal Criminal Complaint/Charge"?

Suggestions anyone?

I will stay with my initial thoughts and say "Formal (Criminal) Complaint". HTH!
Meezermex (asker) Aug 21, 2010:
I apologize, I thought there was enough context 1) It is a legal document written by a prosecuting attorney.
2) It is being presented to the judge during what is presumably a preliminary hearing (it doesn't actually say).
3) Country: El Salvador
4) Client: refugee -- the one who was attacked
5) The plaintiffs are being accused of Attempted Manslaughter and Illegal Possession and Use of Firearms and Weapons of War.

The following after the phrase previously given deals with the individual suspects the crimes attributed to each one of them and the legal backing for calling what they did a crime.

The phrase I was asking about is the Title of the document.

@ asker To the asker: It would be extremely useful that you make yourself familiar with the site rules prior to posting questions. Here are a few links which are well worth reading, particularly as it relates to the provision of "context".

(Guideline): Sufficient context must be provided with each question. When there is no context, the subject area and type of document should be indicated. It can be helpful to enter sentences or paragraphs where the term in question occurs. See a more detailed description here.

2.8 - What should I do if I don't have context to include in my KudoZ question? [Direct link]
There is always some context to provide, such as information about the type of customer (an oil company? a plumber? a dentist? ), the type of document you are translating, the subject, etc.
It is well worth the read.
AllegroTrans Aug 19, 2010:
CONTEXT please: a) what country is it from? b) is this pre-court or in court c) please paste in more of the text

Thank you. Well, I am sorry you though I was abrupt, but you did provide little context (or not enough). I tried to help all I could so I too am irritated with the uncalled for remark when all everyone was asking for was additional context and I was certainly not the only one asking for context. You only supplied the additional context after much prodding.
