Spanish term
rebote vs. náusea/mareo
Spanish to English
Medical
Medical (general)
Hi,
"rebote" in Spanish refers to something like nausea or sickness/vomiting.
But what does "rebote" mean exactly and what is the difference between "rebote", "náusea" or "mareo", if any.
I searched the net and found a few occurrences, but no real explanation, for example:
Rebote. Mareo (JC). Náuseas.

Comment: "Well, not as easy as it seems. I just talked to more people today here in Colombia. Conclusion is:
rebote ácido = acid reflux
rebote = nausea.
A man from Panama told me that there they don't use the word."

burping, nausea, dizziness

Note from asker:
Well, the origin is Colombia. The document I quoted is this: http://cvc.cervantes.es/lengua/thesaurus/pdf/21/TH_21_003_111_0.pdf Another document for Argentina: http://www.biologia.edu.ar/farmacologia/clas4to%5Cbenzodia_2002.PDF: Abstinencia: ansiedad rebote, insomnio, cefalea, irritabilidad, dolor muscular So after tend to think the "rebote" might be the Colombian or Argentinean way to say "nausea", perhaps on a more colloquial level |
Oops, English failed: "So after considering this a little further, I tend to think that ..." |

feel awful vs. nausea/dizzy
I think it just means "feel awful"
I've been feeling awful for the last 2 days, feeling sick...
It usually has a more negative connotation (con un rebote del 15) but here it is just feeling poorly/under the weather
I remember the feeling....

Sorry, I thought you were looking for "rebote" in the context of your sentence in inverted commas. (hace dos días estoy con...). I misunderstood.
I don't think my suggestion is valid.
