It sounds simple enough, and perhaps it is and I am just blocked somehow, but all I can think of is "porrismo" and you know that all of my mental alarms start blaring like a doomsday warning...
The context is sports. It is a description for a non-profit organization. The part that has me squirming in agony is:
"Based in Thattown, Someplace, it aims to promote both football and cheerleading..."
My wicked-bad translation currently stands as:
"Con base en Esepueblo, Aquelsitio, su fin es el de promover el football y el porrismo..."
I know, I know...please help!

En 2002 aquí mismo en Proz considerábamos que no exisitía el cheerleading, pero hoy día yo creo que podrías utilizar el término cheerleaders, al menos en España, pero el problema sería cómo incorporarlo en tu frase. http://www.proz.com/kudoz/english_to_spanish/other/325318-ch...
