Spanish term

pluma recogida

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Petroleum Eng/Sci Article on safety standar
las grúas deberán circular con la pluma recogida y sin pesos suspendidos.

Cannot think how to express this for the crane boom being "gathered in" when driving around a gas plant's facilities.

(with the) boom retracted

I think "retracted" is the equivalent of "recogida"; it is the normal term used as opposed to "extended":

"A vehicle with a 5000lb capacity with the boom retracted may be able to safely lift as little as 400lb with it fully extended at a low boom angle."
