I think the Spanish in this case is overblown when it's translated literally into English - the image only distracts from the meaning rather than helping it. English style is more direct.

: Además de que "clivaje" es un anglicismo innecesario, pues contamos con palabras como división, hendedura, separación, segmentación, descomposición. Creo que sólo en geología lo usan desde hace tiempo, no sé por qué necesidad.
