While I don't question Sergey's copying of the definition of "кираса" (French cuisasse) from Vol. 1 Geol. Slovar, Moscow, 1973, I think, feel the equivalent term "ferricrete" is more understandable and universal. But that's just my opinion, having translated Russian geologic journal for some 52 years, wherein many, many minerals and their names are of Russian origin. This just isn't one of them....
