: a Register (i.e. the actual records within a Registry) is in a person's charge (i.e. the Registrar) but the Registry is not, it is a statutory entity

"Registro" is a Registry, and it is in a person's custody. Also do not forget that we are from opposite sides of the pond, and I would always say it as I have, and never as you and Richard do. However, that does not mean anyone is wrong.
