Spanish to English Science Education / Pedagogy Education
Context:

voluntary tutor

If the teacher is unpaid or only receives expenses, as I suspect may be the case with a tutor solidario, then this would be the best translation.

neutral neilmac : I'm posting this after the query was closed. There is nothing in the text provided to substantiate the assumption, which I'd already mentioned in my agree to Teju.

Hi neilmac, This is a question of knowing the context. The current FSLN government of Nicaragua is implementing a "modelo Cristiano, Socialista y Solidario". A reference to this is www.nicaraguaeduca.edu.ni/aulav/mod/resource/view.php?id=50... see p.10

a shared tutor/mentor

Meaning that the participants are integrated into the other two projects and then taught by the same tutor/mentor for all three integrated groups.

support teacher

The clue is in the next part: "...para reforzamiento escolar"
A support or backup teacher who provides educational "reinforcement" to the pupìl/ or group/s.

Not to be confused with the more specific example of a "learning support teacher", who usually works with special needs pupils.

I don't have the time to keep looking, but maybe this Unesco file will be of help, it mentions "tutorías" in this context of natural disasters. "Solidario" here might mean "committed", "caring" or something similar. Chapter 2 mentions the tutors.

agree neilmac : It can be a euphemism for "volunteer" or "unpaid", but I don't think that's the concept in the query context...

Thank you Neil, this is the reason why I didn't post it as an answer, and I said "solidario here might mean". Your answer makes perfect sense.
