Spanish to English Law/Patents Law: Taxation & Customs IT system for Tax Office
This is for a new IT (SAP) system for the Tax Office, and this part describes the attributes of one of the control files.

"Fecha de interrupción de prescripción" (significa) "Fecha en la que se interrumpe el plazo en el que finaliza la obligación"

tolling of the statute (of limitations)

An example is that the IRS has ten years to collect a tax debt. During that period certain actions will suspend the statue, toll, the 10 years allowing additional time for collection.
A bankruptcy filing that takes 4 months to be discharged, will be tolled for the 4 months plus an additional 6 months. Th IRS would then have 10 years and 10 months to collect.

suspension of the limitation period

Odd again. I thought prescription was used mainly in EN land law to denote adverse possession, namely the acquisition of squatter's rights and loss of legal remedies.

See the example sentence for the difference between suspension (temporal) and interruption (definitiva) in EN. It is important.
Example sentence:

Suspension of the period stops its running temporarily without erasing the period already completed. Interruption erases the period of limitation
