English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals
"It is therefore difficult to make a definitive statement on what information on the potential for X to Y would be appropriate, or on meaning clinical guidance and recommendations for use of the product. "
X is a substance
Y is a process in the body

My problem is the part ofter the "or".
Does it make sense?

'on' what information Because it says 'a definitive statement "on" what information', I think that that the second clause is 'or (a definitive statement) on meaning clinical guidance...'.

I think 'meaning' here is used as an adjective.

The word 'meaning' does not make sense here, it may have been left there by mistake from a previous version. Or they may have intended to say 'the meaning of' but in that case it is the wrong word and it should be something like 'the effectiveness of' or 'the importance of'.

agree with Phil...I think "meaningful" was meant here as I can't see anything else that would make sense

meaning in

After reading the discussions, my take would be meaning used as a mass noun, meaning having important or worthwhile purpose.

Therefore, the phrase after "or" should be "meaning in clinical guidance and recommendations for use of the product.
