Spanish term

DAI-TRC

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) Pacemakers
The following appears in a medical report for a patient with severe cardiomyopathy:
Juicio Clínico:
Fallo de captura DAI-TRC. Miocardiopatía dilatada no isquémica con disfunción severa.

I assume that DAI = “desfibrilador automático implantable” and TRC = “tratamiento (o terapia) de resincronización cardíaca”.
I believe that DAI would equate to ICD (implantable cardioverter-defibrillator) in English and that TRC would equate to CRT (cardiac resynchronization therapy).
However, I don’t appear to find any hits for “ICD-CRT failure to capture”.
Can anyone help on the best translation of “DAI-TRC” in this context?
Thanks.

CRT-D loss of capture

CRT-D stands for Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (with) Defibrillator.

The Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Defibrillator (CRT-D) devices are intended to provide ventricular antitachycardia pacing and ventricular cardioversion/defibrillation. The CRT-D devices are also intended to resynchronize the right and left ventricles. […]

Refs. - "AICD" (automatic/automated) or "ICD"?

I think I understand your doubts and in no way am I opposing Neil Ashby's proposal. Links are diverse, if not inconsistent.

In Spanish the term "automatic" is included which translates to "AICD", and both "AICD" and "ICD" on the net are common.

DAI = desfibrilador automático implantable | **AICD** = automatic/automated implantable cardioverter defibrillator
TRC = terapia de resincronización cardíaca | CRT = cardiac resynchronisation therapy

So, **AICD-CRT failure to capture (FTC)**

(1) loss of pacemaker capture following AICD discharge - PubMed https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2444945/
Abstract
A 78-year-old man treated with amiodarone for recurrent ventricular tachycardia, had sequential placement of a bipolar VVI pacemaker and an **automatic implantable cardioverter defibrillator (AICD)**. During defibrillation threshold testing, there was failure to capture of the pacer in the post-shock period. The time of failure to capture appeared energy-related: the greater the energy delivered, the longer the failure to capture.

(2) What does it mean when a pacemaker fails to capture?
Failure to capture (FTC), which means that the pacemaker stimulations do not result in myocardial activation. Failure to pace (FTP), which means that the pacemaker does not stimulate as expected. Oversensing, which means that the pacemaker senses signals that are not true P-waves or R-waves.

(3) What causes failure to capture?
Failure to capture can result from several causes, including battery depletion, circuit failure, lead dislodgement or maturation, elevated capture thresholds due to progressive cardiac disease, metabolic abnormalities and or drugs.

(4) How do you fix a pacemaker failure to capture?
The typical treatment in this case is repositioning of the lead in the postoperative period. Patients who are dependent on pacing may require a temporary pacemaker or asynchronous pacing if there is just an acute increase in the threshold until lead repositioning.

Causes of Failure to Capture in Pacemakers and Implantable Cardioverter-defibrillators
Abstract
The number of patients with implantable electronic cardiac devices is continuously increasing. As more pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) are being placed, a basic understanding of some troubleshooting for devices is becoming essential. Loss of capture can be an emergent presentation for an unstable patient and can be encountered intermittently in hospitalized patients. There are many causes for a loss of capture, with the timing of the implant having a high correlation with certain causes over others.

(6) http://www.emdocs.net/pacemaker-and-aicd-management-in-the-e...
With the aging population and advances in the technological treatment of dysrhythmias and heart failure, a vast number of people are receiving **automated implantable cardiac devices (AICDs)**. In the United States, an estimated 370,000 people receive AICDs annually, and this number is anticipated to grow significantly (1). AICDs come in various models from standard single chamber pacemakers, biventricular pacemakers, to implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs).
