In Spain, "pegarse el lote" has a very different meaning and a sexual connotation, I am a native European Spanish speaker and I've never heard such expression.
I have checked the meaning of "lote" in the RAE website and the meaning is the same as I previously mentioned.
Perhaps is an expression from southern Spain, I'm from the midlands and I don't use it.
Can you provide more context, please?
