Law (general)
Hello, All:
This appears as the heading of a judgment issued in a Spanish provincial court:
AUDIENCIA PROVINCIAL DE XXX
ROLLO JURADO no XX/XX
SENTENCIA:
Followed by a description of the crimes committed and the penalities imposed.
From what I can infer from the Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Act, a "rollo" is a kind of record containing all the important documents from a criminal trial. How "jurado" fits in here is a mystery to me.
Does anyone know what this is and how to say it in English (UK preferred).
TIA!

Jury Trial (on Indictment or Appeal) Record
Not really a 'Sealed Record', but qué rollo !
Rolls - Scots law > lists of *civil* cases set down for hearing in the Court of Session', Butterworths, but the 'Roll of Proofs, Jury Trials and Sprecial Hearings' is a' list of causes in which proofs, jury trials or special hearings have been fixed'.
Note AT's link to the Tribunal del Jurado.
As a paraellel, a Crown Court in E&W is a Court of 'Record'.
Otherwise, work inductively, so backwards, from an Audiencia Provincial as a Regional Crown Court as a jury court ('the jury system had been introduced in Spain in September 1995', West) or as a Court of *Criminal Appeal*.
Audiencia Provincial: 'Provinical Court > ... the criminal sections hear / deal as a trial court with crimes punishable by more than five years of imprisonment. They also hear *appeals* from criminal courts within the province', West.
Compare and contrast in E&W a case 'triable either way', summarily in the Magistrates' (Scots: Sheriff) Court without a jury or - for serious offences - on indictment in the Crown Court.

Example sentence:

: record of one trial or a roll of all trials held within one session period of the court?

The Rolls in both Scotland and England - cut to Master of the Rolls (!) - & Rollo del Tribunal del Jurado 1/2013 in the first example sentence suggests a List of all jury trials cf. rollo > Esp. 'record on appeal', West

jury bundle
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is planning to run a pilot on the use of a digital jury bundle for Crown Court trials.
It has published a supplier engagement notice saying it wants to provide juries and other key participants in trials with a digital pack of evidence exhibits – such as police interview transcripts, telephone records and photographs - through a digital solution.

Has the pandemic changed the way jury trials may be conducted?
...
The OIC in the case was self-isolating, and had been due to travel to Lancashire to liaise with the witnesses and take the ***jury bundle*** down to them

1. The Jury Bundle
One of the jury practices used at the Old Bailey that should be adopted by American courts is to provide jurors with what the English call a “jury bundle.” This is a compendium of exhibits that serves as an essential resource for English jurors. The jury bundle is a binder that is given to jurors at the start of the trial, and can be supplemented throughout the trial. It provides jurors with copies of all of the exhibits. There is a jury bundle for every two jurors. In cases that have a lot of documentary evidence, the prosecution sometimes provides jurors with post-its and highlighter pens so that they can easily find documents and underline points that they want to return to during their deliberations.

I am not 100% certain hence the low confidence level but the difference between this and 'court case file' offered by patinba is that this would only be visible to the jury whereas a 'trial bundle' contains all document relating to the case and is available to both prosecution and defense.

I thought it might be a reference of some kind - often shown at the head of documents like this, rather than the title of the document.,

From the Criminal Procedure Act, .Spanish & English:
"Artículo 883.
Formada la nota, se unirá al rollo, y pasarán los autos al Magistrado ponente para
instrucción, por término de diez días."
"Article 883.
Once the memorandum is drawn up, it will be place with the case and the records will
be passed to the Rapporteur Magistrate for instruction, for a period of ten days."
The translation is the official one from the Ministry of Justice.
