Estoy traduciendo un documento médico y hay una sección en la que se dan las razones por las que no se debe ingresar a UCI a pacientes irrecuperables. Uno de estos puntos incluye el término "muerte tecnologizada". No logro entender a que hace referencia. Este es el contexto:
¿Por qué no es razonable ingresar a UCI pacientes irrecuperables?
• Estos pacientes no se benefician de las intervenciones.
• Bloquean camas a pacientes recuperables (maleficencia).
• Prolongan agonía innecesariamente (maleficencia).
• Aumentan los gastos injustificadamente (justicia sanitaria).
• No se respeta la dignidad de morir (muerte tecnologizada).
El documento está siendo traducido para una certificación internacional que será entregada a una empresa de Estados Unidos.

Entiendo a que hace referencia al hecho de someter a un paciente a muchos procedimientos invasivos y a máquinas que le mantienen con vida a como dé lugar tratando de evitar lo inevitable.

No es una frase estándar ni mucho menos, ya puedes ver los resultados en Google.
So, trying to figure out what he means by his phrase, using the word "technology", in the context of the "ICU":
- hooking a person up to machines to sustain his vitals
- when he is clearly going to die in only a matter of time
- is immoral and insensitive use of modern technology.
Lo que propongo es que en vez de traducir su frase artística,
you instead point to the common term referring to keeping someone alive via tubes plugged in up and down their body.
Porque nuestro trabajo es que se entienda qué leches escribe el autor, no intentar ser igual de creativos para que aún se tenga que buscar qué significa.
